SCOPE Day 2013 will be held at Marion-Harding High School on Wednesday, June 12th. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with opening remarks starting at 9:00 a.m. Registration is FREE for dues-paying members. (Non-dues-paying members or exempt staff can attend the event for $10 to cover the cost of food.)
Many speakers have been lined up for this event, including Reggie Barnes, who will discuss his time as superintendent of one of the poorest school districts in the United States. Mr. Barnes was featured in the Oscar-nominated documentary “LaLee’s Kin: The Legacy of Cotton” in 2001.
Other SCOPE Day sessions will feature topics such as: the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES), new English curriculum requirements, what the State Library can do for you, and MORE! (Full agenda will be posted here as soon as it’s finalized.)
If you are interested in attending SCOPE Day 2013, please let your site representative know by Friday, May 17th so that he/she can communicate an accurate head count to the SCOPE Executive Board, which in turn assures that enough food is purchased for lunch.
Hope to see you there!
